On Serving Mode

Unless we travel length and breadth of our constituency, it is difficult for us to understand the ground reality and toiling of our constituents, especially the farmers. If we don’t understand, then we cannot positively impact policy decisions at various levels for sustainable development. It is, therefore, essential that we always switch to serving mode with empathy. Hardworking folks of Bjena Gewog, working and residing at Khotokha, greeted us at Tashi-La in the hope of addressing a couple of road issues that demand urgent base-coursing. As you will see in the picture below, their problem is genuine and overarching. I saw powerful tractors skid in entrenched muddy road; forget bolero trucks. That is seriously discouraging our farmers from hard-working to feed the mouths of thousands. Farmers are worried that, with such road condition, they may not be able to reach their potatoes to destination in time. My farmers earn between Nu.50,000 to Nu.300,000 every season. In consultation with the LG, Dzongkhag and Central Government, I will be doing everything I can to address the road problem.
