TRONGSA TA-DZONG, THE UNCONQUERED WATCH TOWER

In the ballad of legendary Pemi Tshewang Tashi, he metaphorically describes majestic Ta-dzong as:

It loosely translates to—"even as the Trongsa Pönlop, Dungkar Gyeltshen, lost the mighty Trongsa Dzong to the aggressor Bjakar Dzongpoen, Pema Tenzin's forces; the gem-like Ta Dzong (watch tower) remained intact and unconquered.

The Ta Dzong is glorified in his ballad as "norbui ta-dzong" or "a gem-like watch tower", indicating that the all necessary wartime armaments, rations and soldiers were safe within the fortified walls of the watch tower.
