REVELATION OF A MIRACLE

When His Holiness the Je Khenpo was receiving treatment abroad, Rinpoche wanted to thank his treating doctor for his service. Since giving a thangka of Medicine Buddha was all His Holiness and the attendants could think of, Rinpoche gifted one to the doctor. But the doctor happened to be a Christian by chance, which His Holiness and the disciples were completely unaware of. Nonetheless, the doctor gladly received and as he unfurled, he was totally blown away and admitted to His Holiness that he saw the exact image (Medicine Buddha) on the thangka in his dream the night before. 

From this true incident, the message His Holiness was passing during the LIVE initiation of Sangay Menla was, there are immense preventive and curative powers in the Medicine Buddha should we pray to him all the time with conviction. It could influence science and crossover to other faiths and bring benefits to the one who is constantly seeking his protection. 

Then how do we pray and how difficult it is to take refuge in the Medicine Buddha? It’s not at all difficult. All it takes is, if you may find the text in choekey too technical to comprehend, follow the translation for at least a couple of times. Then you will be able to understand the meanings as you recite the mantra on a daily basis. 

I’m assuming that the following translation is done by a well versed spiritual practitioner. Forgive me for any errors that may be misleading: 

༄། །ཐུགས་རྗེ་ཀུན་ལ་སྙོམས་པའི་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས། ། མཚན་ཙམ་ཐོས་པས་ངན་འགྲོའི་སྡུག་བསྔལ་སེལ། ། དུག་གསུམ་ནད་སེལ་སངས་རྒྱས་སྨན་གྱི་བླ། །བཻ་ཌཱུརྻ་ཡི་འོད་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །

The transcendent-victor, whose compassion for all is equal,

Simply hearing your name dispels the suffering of lower realms, 

Buddha of Medicine, you who heal the sickness of the three poisons— 

Light of Lapis Lazuli, to you, we pay homage

ཏདྱཐཱ༔ ཨོཾ་བྷཻ་ཥ་ཛྱེ་བྷཻ་ཥ་ཛྱེ། མ་ཧཱ་བྷཻ་ཥ་ཛྱེ། རཱ་ཛཱ་ས་མུདྒ་ཏེ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།

སེམས་ཅན་ནད་པ་ཇི་སྙེད་པ། །མྱུར་དུ་ནད་ལས་ཐར་གྱུར་ཅིག །འགྲོ་བའི་ནད་ནི་མ་ལུས་པ། །རྟག་ཏུ་འབྱུང་བ་མེད་པར་ཤོག །

However many sick sentient beings there are, may they quickly be freed from all sickness.

May all the sicknesses, without exception, of transmigratory beings never occur again.
